AS always the boredom kicks in and having moved away from Windows 8 on the new ASUS laptop we had a good time with linux mint 15 but its time for something new so lets try and get BOHDI linux installed and tried
619mb download took around 10 mins from there download section
use software manager and grab UNetbootin (install) and make USB version
Format your USB drive – us Gparted from the software center (real easy) does everything you need and as always FREE AWESOME
The recent install has gone really well and the replacement of WINDOWS 8 has really made the asus S300 fly except the odd drop out from the wifi or poor signal. so yet another fix required and fast I HATE DROP OUTS.
search the forums they have a few idea’s on the cure HERE
try this cut and paste into terminal (simples)
Open Dash and search for Terminal and open it
tar xvf backports-20130618.tar.xz
sudo make install
(insert your password when sudo asks it).
Ready! Reboot the computer
success I’ve gone from 43% signal to 73% 3 from 4 bars on the signal strength (well better than it was)
Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
Jan 2014 – Above does’nt seem to work with BODHI LINUX – so more google searchin required
